The Guardian revealed that it will fork out the legal costs Tesco has had to part with during the process, while it will also make a donation to a charity nominated by the firm.
In the apology, the paper admitted that the “damaging allegations were unfounded” and that they should not have been published in the first place.
An original apology was made by the company back in May, when it said Tesco did not use Cayman Island structures to keep money owed in tax.
