Tesco could open a supermarket in the north-east designed with pensioners in mind after a collaborative effort with scientists.
Elderly people are set to visit a shop of a similar variety in Berlin to see how it operates and this may inform any future plans, reports the Daily Mail
Tesco’s Michael Kissman told the paper that nothing has been decided yet and the company attempts to take into account the views of all age groups when designing stores.
“All our stores cater for a range of people of different ages and abilities and all comply with disability legislations and are accommodating. But we are happy to listen to any feedback for this store,” he commented.
North East Pensioners’ Association chairman John Berry gave his backing to the plans and claimed that Tesco could “feel the benefit”.
