Cornwall’s St Austell Brewery has scooped its second major award of the year for its Admiral’s Ale by today winning the Champion Bottled Beer of Britain 2010 Award at Camra’s (Campaign for Real Ale’s) Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) at London’s Earl’s Court.
In the spring, the 5% alcohol by volume ale won the ale award at the Quality Drink Awards, run by Independent Retail News and Talking Retail.com.
The silver award for bottled beers at the GBBF went to Pitfield’s 1850 London Porter, with the bronze going to Great Oakley’s Delapre Dark.
Castle Rock Brewery, of Nottingham, won the overall Champion Beer of Britain 2010 Award for its Harvest Pale, while the silver award went to Timothy Taylor Landlord and Surrey Hills’ Hammer Mild.
