Cooking from scratch is becoming more and more popular, according to new research, but the rise in ready meals is continuing at the same time.
The study, carried out on behalf of Kellogg’s found UK consumers alternating between cooking complex meals from scratch at the weekend to being ready-meal junkies during the week.
On average, Britons cook from scratch three times a week, compared with two-and-a-half times a week four years ago.
But half of UK consumers now use ready meals every week, against just one in four consumers five years ago.
