Sainsbury’s is to cut between 100 and 300 jobs as part of a restructuring move at its head office.
A spokeswoman said the move will mean that the internal structure at the company will be simplified.
The firm said in a statement: “Sainsbury’s has today announced plans to restructure central support teams to align them for the future growth, ensuring there is no duplication of activity and to simplify the central operation.”
Sainsbury’s is also due to move from its current head office in 2011.
Earlier this month, the supermarket announced plans to create 5,000 fresh jobs after posting strong Christmas sales figures.
