Discount retailer Poundland claims its new “bigger and better grocery range” launched in June is already proving a hit with figure-conscious customers.
After just a few weeks of sales and with over 100 new lines added to the existing grocery range, customers “can’t get enough” of Weight Watchers’ Cheese Puffs and Cadbury’s Brunch Bars.
There are over 30 new brands in the range, including Discovery, HP, Delmonte and Branston.
The products with the highest sales so far are the five-pack of Weight Watcher crisps, Cadbury’s Brunch Bars, Oxo Beef Cubes and HP Baked Beans (three for £1.
The best sellers in the north and Midlands by far are Weight Watchers’ Cheese Puffs and Beef Oxo Cubes. However the southerners are opting for Cadbury’s Brunch Bars.
Jim McCarthy, Poundland’s chief executive, said: “We are very pleased with how well the new grocery range has been received by customers.
“Poundland is always looking to give customers what they want and with the summer under way we knew our shoppers would be looking for a healthy alternative.
“Sales show that the new lines are a hit with shoppers and it’s great to see brands such as Weight Watchers and Cadburys doing so well in our stores.”
