Tesco has ramped up its range of Polish food in response to renewed demand.
The retailer has almost doubled the number of products stocked from 119 to 211- reversing a year-long trend that had seen demand slump by 23% as Polish workers returned home in the recession.
However, Polish food sales have risen 15% from a year ago, possibly caused by a new wave of Polish immigration to Britain driven by the high unemployment rate in Poland, which is now 10.9 per cent, compared to 7.8 per cent in Britain
Tesco first stocked Polish food in September 2006.
