In total, 68% of the people polled by the organisation said they are more likely to use the medium for presents this year, while 77% asserted that at least half of all their Christmas shopping will be done over the internet.

Moreover, a growing number of shoppers are set to use the internet as a medium via which to analyse purchases before they are bought, IMRG noted.

Chief executive at the organisation James Roper said that shoppers are becoming more aware about deals that exist online.

“It’s great to see the high levels of awareness amongst Christmas shoppers on the competitive pricing available online,” he commented.

He added that consumers are likely to get access to value for money over the festive season because of their ability pick out the cheapest deals.

Researcher Gomez recently stated that Asda’s website loads infromation the fastest after a survey.
