Supermarket chain Morrisons is expected to announce a new chief executive by the end of the week, reports The Sunday Times.
The group, chaired by Sir Ian Gibson, will choose between Richard Pennycook, its finance director, and two candidates from European retailers.
Pennycook is seen as the favourite, but city sources said it was a ‘close call’ between several talented candidates.
