A new scheme has been started by value supermarket Netto that will see cash machines installed in a number of its stores.

The company said that it will be working alongside Alliance & Leicester (A&L) Commercial Bank to introduce the ATMs so customers have easier access to cash free of charge.

Marketing manager at Netto Mike Hinchcliffe claimed that it is another move in the correct direction from the Danish outfit.

“We are constantly looking at ways in which to enhance our overall shopping experience and, as a result of ongoing customer research, we know that ATMs are one of the services consumers look for from their supermarket,” he said.

He added that customers have so far been positive about the move and that they have stated the machines will be used regularly.

Such views were matched by the head of sales and projects at A&L Mark Haase who said the move boosts convenience for people.

The first stores to get the cash machines were Northolt Road, South Harrow and Elm Lane, Sheffield.
