Morrisons is set to post sales growth of at least 8% this Thursday, according to analysts.
Experts have predicted the company’s level of growth has been maintained thanks to strong advertising campaigns featuring Richard Hammond and Denise Van Outen.
TNS said earlier this month that Morrisons increased its market share to 11.9% over the 12 weeks to 28 December.
Royal Bank of Scotland analyst Justin Scarborough said: “Morrisons is delivering on all fronts, with strong sales enhanced by sharp promos and clever marketing.”
Marc Bolland, chief executive, is likely to tell the city that the company has performed especially well in the south of England.
Sainsbury’s has so far been the best-performing multiple in terms of Christmas performance, with like-for-like sales growth of 4.5%.
Tesco saw just half this growth at 2.5%.
