Morrisons pulls fresh salmon over contamination fears

Supermarket giant Morrisons has recalled its fresh Scottish salmon because of a possible risk of it being tainted with white spirit.

The recall affects all fresh salmon – apart from organic – sold from Morrisons’ fresh fish counters and pre-packed from chiller cabinets.

The contamination results in an unpleasant taste, the Food Standards Agency said.

Morrions has removed all affected products from sale and placed recall notices in the national press.

A full list of affected product is available on the Food Standards Agency website.
