Lottery retailers get set for £85m EuroMillions jackpot

National Lottery retailers are looking forward to a bumper sales week, with an estimated £85m EuroMillions Mega Jackpot up for grabs on Friday 5 February 2010.

With four big EuroMillions jackpot wins for UK players in the last year, totalling more than £142 million in prize money, stores are looking forward to increased excitement among players and have been issued with point of sale (POS) kits to help further boost sales for the special draw.

The Sturt family from Dorking are the latest EuroMillions big jackpot winners, scooping a massive £26.1m on 15 January 2010.
The winning ticket, a Lucky Dip, was bought from Bradshaws Newsagent on South Street, Dorking.

Manesh Amin, who sold George Sturt the lucky winning ticket, said: “If you want to buy a lottery ticket, come here – we’re obviously a lucky shop.”

POS kits arriving this week include counter cards, posters and bespoke messages on media screens.

TV, radio and outdoor advertising is also supporting the draw, starting from this coming weekend (Saturday, 30 January 2010).
