Home Affairs Minister to speak at WSTA conference

Home Affairs Minister James Brokenshire will be the guest speaker at this year’s Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) Conference on 15 September.

Brokenshire is Parliamentary Under-Secretary for crime reduction. Among other matters, he is expected to discuss the Government’s consultation on proposals to reform the Licensing Act and introduce a ban on the sale of alcohol below cost price.

This year’s WSTA Conference, sponsored by Tetrapak, plays host to some of the leading figures from the wine and spirit trade, as they consider the challenges and opportunities in the UK marketplace.

Key speakers include: John Beard (chief executive, Whyte & Mackay), Chris Mason (managing director, First Drinks Brands), Steve Lewis (CEO, Majestic Wines), Jonathan Stordy (managing director Europe, Beam Global) and Adrian McKeon (BWS category director, Asda).

The conference, hosted by WSTA Chairman Tim How, will also hear the latest market analysis from research houses Nielsen, CGA and Wine Intelligence.
