Grolsch Premium Lager recalled from Morrisons

Coors Brewers has recalled a number of Grolsch lager containers from Morrisons because of a “discovery of some pieces of glass” in a small number of bottles.

The affected item is the Grolsch Premium Lager 300ml, of which two batches have been recalled, marked with codes L8199 and L8200.

Only 20-packs of these products are involved in the recall, each having a best before date of 31 March 2009.

The brewer said that customers have been informed of the development and advice notices have already been placed in a number of national newspapers.

And the bottles were made on 18 July this year, the Food Standards Agency said, meaning that they have only now been distributed to Morrisons.

Coors revealed that no other products have been affected by the problem and that those items mentioned above should be returned to the retailer.

Batch details and best before dates are found on the bottle’s shoulder and on external cardboard packaging, the drinks maker added.

Last week, Sainsbury’s recalled a batch of Taste the Difference Steak and Ale pies after one of the ingredients inside the package – celery – was not mentioned on the packet.
