Britain’s retail frozen food market is worth nearly £5bn, according to TNS Worldpanel data
The market is also growing by an average of 7% a year.
“The frozen food market has been in accelerating growth since December 2006 – long before the credit crunch began,” said British Frozen Food Federation (BFF) director general Brian Young.
The BFF reported that TNS Worldpanel had seen demand growth in eight of the nine frozen sectors covered by its research.
Young suggested buyers were becoming increasingly cost conscious and this was helping frozen food sales.
