Coors shakes up UK board

Carling lager company Coors Brewers has shaken up its UK board following the recent resignation of sales director John Holberry.

The sales director role will be split into two major sales roles: Steve Ellis will be sales director for the independent on-trade business, such as pubs, clubs and hotels, and John Heynen will be sales director for national retail groups and distributors in both the on- and off-trades.

Ellis has been with the brewer for 14 years while Heynen has been with the business for four years, having joined from Pepsi and has held roles in sales and logistics.

He will be responsible for building Coors brands and the continued development of the Irish market place. David Heede will join the board as strategy director.

Mark Hunter, chief executive at Coors Brewers, said: “I am pleased that I have been able to find the talent necessary to develop the board from within our ranks.”

Appointments are effective from 17 March and all will be based in the head office in Burton upon Trent.
