At the British Retail Consortium (BRC), Jane Milne is appointed as the body’s new director of business environment with a remit to lead the BRC’s lobbying and policy work on range of legislative areas influencing the environment within which retailers do business.
Meanwhile, at WRAP, the Waste & Resources Action Programme, Richard Swannell, director of retail and organics programmes, who previously headed WRAP’s retail programme, takes on responsibility for the retail team at director level in addition to his role as director of organics. Swannell takes over from Phillip Ward who will take on responsibility for developing WRAP’s support for local government services, while Andy Dawe has been appointed head of retail programmes. Dawe moves from WRAP’s manufacturing team.
In the BWS sector, Coors Brewers has appointed Mark Hunter as chief executive. Hunter replaces Peter Swinburn who has been appointed as chief executive of the Coors Brewing Company, Molson Coors’ USA business.
In the wine market Distell, a leading South African alcoholic drinks group, has appointed Sarah Gandy as marketing manager for its wine portfolio across the UK and Europe. Gandy was previously global brand manager for Kumala wine at Constellation.
Elsewhere, Jenks, the sales channel and brokerage company has recruited Des Ewing from Inbev as sales and marketing director for its BWS division and Harvey-Miller Wine and Spirit Agencies has appointed Alan Wardrop as sales manager, Scotland. Wardrop was previously trade sector controller at Fior Brands.
BWS distributor Patriatrading has recruited Andy Butcher as sales director. Butcher joins from Constellation Europe where he was senior account manager responsible for the travel and retail sectors of the business.
And a new cider expert has taken over leadership of the cider industry. Fenella Tyler, head of cider communications at Bulmers, has been named as the new chair of the National Association of Cider Makers (NACM).
The food sector has announced a number of moves too. Duchy Originals has appointed Andrew Baker as group ceo. Baker was previously managing director for Africa, Middle East and Turkey at Cadbury Schweppes.
Eponymous Bagels brand, Mr Bagels, has promoted Mark Radberg as director. Radberg joined the company in 2004 and has been responsible for developing and managing the brand’s extended shelf life product range.
Kavli, maker of Primula Cheese, has made three new appointments. Kate Winterton joins as group product manager for pate and dips. William Ballantyne is appointed as new product development manager and Shelley McGrady as NPD technologist.
Sweet bakery specialist Dawn Foods has a trio of appointments too. Lucy Baylem is recruited as a bakery technician; Dave Roberts is promoted to national accounts controller and Emma von Landkammer as management accountant.
Elsewhere, ex SCA marketing director, Patrick Pace, joins Antony Worrall Thompson’s Fresh and Green household cleaning brand, operated by Clean and Green UK, as sales manager; and Pilgrim’s Choice has appointed Zoe Boulton as marketing assistant.
In supporting services, Envision Retail, the store operations specialist, has appointed Antonello Irace as director. Irace joins from Management Horizons Europe and Proudfoot Consulting.
Finally, recruitment company Stone Personnel has appointed Adam Tweddle as general manager of its new division, Stone Retail.
