The Co-operative Food has recognised the “hard work and talents” of its teams, stores and staff members, with the sixth annual Co-operative Good with Food awards.
Held at Manchester Central Convention Complex, the event rewarded “shining stars” across the business, with the Store Team of the Year awards providing the climax to the evening as teams from small, medium and large Co-op stores collected trophies.
The Small Store Team of the Year award went to The Co-operative Food in Bellingham, Northumberland, for its “true sense of team spirit” and “great leadership”. The Medium Store Team of the Year award was picked up by Erleigh Road in Reading for its “engaged, delightful and enthusiastic team, who make sure everyone visiting, working or even in the local community feel special towards The Co-operative”.
The Long Moor Lane store in Liverpool was presented with the award for Large Store Team of the Year, as it demonstrated “fantastic store standards of execution delivered through an engaged store team, clearly having the customer at the forefront of everything they do”.
Several individuals in the business were also presented with awards after impressing judges in areas including customer service, environmental efforts, product development and championing the community. A special Customer Champion award went to Rebecca Dodd of The Co-operative Food in Looe, Cornwall, “whose fantastic customer service, especially when serving elderly shoppers, led a customer to nominate her for this accolade.”
Sean Toal, chief operating officer and acting chief executive for The Co-operative Food, said: “These awards recognise staff’s hard work and dedication throughout the year, who individually and collectively, time after time go above and beyond to put our customers at the heart of everything we do.”
