Co-op establishes in-store digital network

Retailer the Co-operative Group claims to have set up the largest in-store digital network in Europe.

The Co-operative now has more than 5,500 digital screens at point of sale, simultaneously showing brand messages in some 1,800 outlets.

The majority of screens are located in Co-operative Food stores.

Patrick Allen, director of marketing said: “We are a convenience retailer and industry-wide research shows, and our own experience concurs, that digital marketing is very effective in that format.

“It enables us to communicate our co-operative difference in a fresh and constantly changing way and this is proving popular with customers.”
