Henderson introduced its first Tim Hortons – a well-known brand in Canada and the US – to its Malone Road Spar earlier this year and plans to make the concept available to other Spar stores across Northern Ireland in the next few years.
The roll-out is being managed by Cuisine de France, under license from Tim Hortons.
The Kitsu noodle bar will serve up fresh stir fries, while the smoothie bar will produce drinks to order.
The store’s existing products range has also been extended to suit the needs of city shoppers.
Retail operations director Mark McCammond said: “Shoppers in the city centre in particular are interested in a range of modern ‘food-to-go’ meal and snacking options.
“We are offering our customers a range to suit all times of day.
“Through developing partnerships with premium brands such as Tim Hortons, we aim to drive the ‘food-to-go’ side of convenience retailing.”
Henderson Retail owns and operates 58 convenience stores and petrol forecourts across Northern Ireland under the Spar, Eurospar and Vivo formats.
