Adrian Troy, head of marketing at Barr’s commented: “Barr’s Originals are bang on trend. Authenticity, naturalness and great taste are major trends that are driving consumer choice and our drinks deliver on all these fronts. Being bottled in glass reinforces our quality message and enables easy recycling.”
The range will offer something new to the adult drinks market, which has grown to over £100m retail value, but slowed down considerably last year because of a lack of significant innovation.
Barr has been working on the launch of Barr’s Originals for the last couple of years.
Troy continued: “We have taken four recipes from our archives and refined them for the launch. Essentially they are a ‘taste of the past for today’. The products need to be tasted to appreciate how good they are – we think they are the best tasting carbonated soft drinks that money can buy.”
Barr’s Originals have an RRSP of £1.49. They will be supported nationally with press advertising, PR and sampling.
