Asda to build new store in Shropshire


asda frontAsda has been given the all-clear to build a new store on the site of Telford and Wrekin Council’s civic offices in Telford, Shropshire.

The council granted full planning consent yesterday for the 4,087sq m supermarket, with a petrol filling station and 500 space car park.

The new development will replace Asda’s existing store in Telford Shopping Centre. Asda said the new store would open in 2014.

An application for 79 new homes on a site next to the Asda store was also granted outline planning consent by Telford and Wrekin Council.
