Breweries across the UK are being the given the chance by Asda to see their products on the Supermarket’s shelves.
Asda’s beer buyer Jill Wilson, launching the competition, said that the retailer is always looking at ways to introduce new titles that break boundaries.
Various categories are included as part of the contest, such as best lager, best cider and best cider in the north and south of England.
Winners in each of the categories are set to be given a 12-week listing in stores from January next year.
“Asda is constantly looking for innovative products or ranges which appeal to customers. We’ve recently brought in new organic lager, fruit cider and a whole bay of low/no alcohol beer and cider to meet demand,” Wilson said.
She added that the company’s sourcing programme generates space in each of its stores for micro breweries.
A closing date of 31 October has been set by the retailer.
Last week, Asda said that its new natural baking range is a revolutionary one.
