Asda drops petrol prices from today

From today (Friday 4 May) customers will pay no more than 136.7p per litre for unleaded and 141.7p per litre for diesel at Asda.

The supermarket claims it leads the way in passing on the savings from a drop in global oil prices. It’s the second price drop on fuel in three weeks and should be “good news for hard-pressed motorists throughout the UK”.

Research taken from PetrolPrices.com shows that some retailers are “getting away” with charging up to 147.9p per litre for unleaded and 151.9p per litre for diesel in towns without an Asda nearby.

Andy Peake, Asda’s director of petrol trading, said: “It’s been a tough year for motorists but today’s latest move shows that Asda is once again leading the way in reducing the price at the pump.”
