Following a restructure across the trading function, Asda has announced the appointment of Adrian McKeon as beers, wines and spirits (BWS) category director.
He takes the reigns from Barry Williams who has moved to category director for total grocery.
McKeon joins Asda from a number of high-profile roles within the drinks industry, including CEO at Cobra beer. His appointment builds on the success of the Asda BWS team who implemented double-digit sales and volume growth in 2009.
Emma Fox, food trading commercial director at Asda said: “We are delighted to welcome Adrian into our award-winning BWS team. The breadth and diversity of his experience will add a new dimension to our offering in what will be an exciting year for the category.
“Adrian will be leading our World Cup 2010 plan where we aim to be the one-stop shop for customers.”
