Aldi’s ‘credit crunch suit’

Aldi is taking its hard discount tactics into the clothing sector, and is selling a suit for just £25.

The pinstripe suit is aimed at “office workers feeling the pinch”, says the retailer, and includes trousers priced at £7.99 and jacket priced at £16.99.

It is washable, durable and is not 100 per cent polyester, as is the case with most cheap suits, Aldi added.

Aldi’s ‘credit crunch suit’ follows clothing price wars between Tesco and Asda last month, when the retailers were battling to undercut prices on school uniforms.
