Retail Industry Awards 2009: the winners

ria09_logoSainsbury's, Morrisons and Spar were among the big winners at this year's Retail Industry Awards, announced last night at a gala dinner in London.

Sainsbury's won Supermarket of the Year, while convenience group Spar took the Symbol/Fascia Group of the Year title.

Morrisons also picked up a raft of awards, including Seafood Retailer of the Year and Off-licence Retailer of the Year (multiple).

Cotswolds-based Warner's Budgens won three awards in the independent retailer categories, including Community Retailer of the Year, while Landmark Wholesale was handed the award for Outstanding Achievement.
