Walkers: Do us a Flavour winners

Friday, 09 January 2009
Walkers has picked the six winners from the one million entries it received to its ‘Do us a flavour' competition.

And the winners are - Fish & Chips, Onion Bhaji, Chocolate & Chilli, Crispy Duck & Hoi Sin, Builder's Breakfast and Cajun Squirrel.

The six new flavours are on sale now and consumers must vote for the winner who will pick up £50,000 and 1% of any subsequent sales. The competition closes in May.

The crisps are available in six-pack multi-packs and in Big Eat bags and the trade is being offered the chance to buy smaller, mixed cases in order to stock as many flavours as possible. POS is available.

Last July Walkers launched the campaign, asking the general public to invent a brand new flavour.

Personally think other flavours would have been more pleasant to taste buds like lemon zest flavour or another simple flavour like mandarin orange zest flavour.....something less hard to get wrong and which has a new era healthy life style profile.....we want a detox future and biodegradable hygienic clean bags and healthy tasty appeal in my opinion even things like parsley and thyme flavour could be a good flavour to accompany say winter soups and summer salads.Tiny Susie

Walkers are doing a good deed to the world by spreading awareness of the superb snack, the onion bhaji. I will be trawling the aisles for a 6 pack sometime soon.

I tried the fish and chips ones today, and they tasted lame, like a mixture of beef flavoured walkers and those Scampi and Fries snacks you can get. I really want to try the chilli and chocolate ones though.

x*x.
