Tesco appoints new non-executive directors

Thursday, 18 December 2008
Tesco has announced the appointment of two new non-executive directors, who will join the board next year.

Ken Hanna joins the retailer from Cadbury, where he was chief financial officer, on 1 January 2009.

Jacqueline Tammenoms Bakker most recently worked at the Ministry of Transport in Holland and joins on 1 April 2009.

She has also held positions at Shell, McKinsey & Co and Quest International. Hanna has experience at United Distillers, Avis Europe, Dalgety and Compass Partners.

Chairman David Reid said: "I am delighted that both Ken and Jacqueline are joining the Board of Tesco.

"Ken is a highly respected finance director and also brings with him considerable knowledge of both developed and emerging markets.

"Jacqueline's experience in both the private and public sectors, and her strong international background, will be an asset to our board."

Last month, Netto's ex-managing director Richard Lancaster was unveiled as Morrisons' senior trading director.
