Spar strengthens links with Total UK

The links between Spar and Total UK have been strengthened after the retailer said that it will supply seven more stores for the latter's service stations.

Retail director at Spar Richard Bennett argued that the move will deliver "considerable" sales increases and that there will be a focus on fresh food.

Store formats manager at Total UK Jim King added that he wants to provide the "ultimate shopping experience", with the Spar connection an "obvious" one.

"Total UK has a great track record with Spar in delivering specific retail solutions to meet our individual site locations and customer needs," he said.

Spar said that the agreement ought to had £6.5m worth of sales at the retail level. The sites were chosen because of their "variation" the retailer added.

In related news, the company has also launched the latest of its Stores of the Future.
