M&S sacked worker reveals identity

Monday, 08 September 2008
The man who was sacked by Marks & Spencer (M&S) for informing the media about the retailer's changes to its redundancy package has said the company spies on its staff.

Yesterday, Tony Goode revealed himself to be the ex-employee who leaked the information about M&S's planned move.

He claimed that the company watches its staff and that a feeling of fear is generated by these practices.

"I have a big mortgage and I don't know if I will get another job," he commented at a press conference held in Brighton.

However, M&S said that it is "astonished" by the claims of Goode and the union representing him, GMB.
