Various innovations have meant that more natural ingredients are now being used in energy drinks, Business Insights has said.
This has meant there has been a move away from instant boost products to more "sustainable" ones, it revealed.
And the development, Business Insights added, means that the items can be targeted at people who want healthy options from their drinks.
Moreover, as the general public becomes more aware of the importance of additive-free choices then the opportunities in the natural sector will expand, it noted.
Such fluids can be positioned as soft drinks, the organisation asserted, meaning that competition is likely to intensify in the weeks and months ahead.
It predicted that the market value of the drinks market in the UK by 2011 will be about £2,696bn.
