Superquinn confirms acquisition interest

Superquinn, the Irish grocery chain, has said that it has been approached by a number of retailers over a possible sale.

Owner of the brand Select Retail Holdings confirmed that it has made Goldman Sachs its adviser for any future acquisition deal.

Irish press sources have noted that Asda could be the outfit most likely to capture Superquinn but Tesco and Sainsbury's have also reportedly shown an interest.
