Last month the great and the good of the Grocery Industry once again came together for the Annual Diamond Ball, the first national fundraiser of 2009 for Caravan, the grocery industry charity.
The event was a huge success and thanks to the generosity of all who attended the money raised will look after 160 of the charity’s 1800 beneficiaries across 2009.
The Ball was attended by many key industry figures, including David Reid, Chairman of Tesco plc and Patron of Caravan who gave the welcome speech.
David also announced that Waitrose Managing Director Mark Price will be taking the post of Fundraising Committee President from September 2009.
It is great news for the charity to have such an experienced industry figure coming on board and more details of his appointment and fundraising agenda will follow later in 2009.
