Total Refrigeration begins technology drive

Retailers struggling to cope with the credit crunch are being encouraged to take advantage of a new initiative to lease freezer equipment.

The scheme by Total Refrigeration, the UK’s leading supplier of branded ice cream freezers, will make the latest refrigeration technology more affordable.

New equipment can now be leased from the Hyde-based company via a scheme developed in conjunction with Bibby Financial Services, a leading global business financial services provider.

Retailers can spread the cost of new refrigeration equipment, taking ownership of the product at the end of the three-year leasing period. There is no additional charge at the end of the leasing period to keep the equipment.

The scheme is available on all Total Refrigeration equipment valued at £949 (plus VAT) and above.

The Total Refrigeration leasing scheme means that a retailer could have a new branded Maxivision II freezer in their shop for just £8.78 (plus VAT) per week. The scheme is for business users only and is subject to status.

The scheme is also tax efficient as 40 per cent of the cost of the lease can be claimed as a tax rebate annually. Customers are always advised to seek advice from their accountant.

Those who take up the scheme will have access to the most up-to-date, energy efficient freezers which promise cheaper running and reduced maintenance costs than ever before.

Stuart Grimshaw, Marketing Manager at Total Refrigeration, says: “This initiative is a direct response to our customers’ fears over the credit crunch.

“We never underestimate customer loyalty and want to help retailers through this difficult time. This is an affordable scheme that gives retailers access to the equipment when they need it.

“Spreading the cost of new ice cream freezers is tax efficient, has cash-flow benefits and by working with Bibby Financial Services, our customers can be secure in the knowledge that one of the world’s biggest business finance companies is underwriting their investment.

“The beauty of this scheme is that it helps the small retailer purchase what they need, rather than what they can afford at that time,” says Stuart.

Ian Story, Senior Sales Manager at Bibby Financial Services, says: “Times are incredibly hard for retailers, but schemes like this will help them capitalise on vital sales opportunities such as ice cream.”
