New director general for “Sweet Charity”


The Confectioners Benevolent Fund, affectionately known as ‘Sweet Charity’ has appointed Patrick Davis as their Director General from September 1st to succeed Malcolm Carter who retires on August 31st after almost five years in the role.

Patrick has enjoyed a career in the Food Industry, from Cadbury Bros and Premier Brands in a variety of sales and marketing roles to the CEO of Food from Britain until 2000.

For the past eight years he has managed and run his own business called Food-Consulting Ltd.

Mike Denyard Chairman of the charity said, “We are delighted at Patrick’s appointment. He is an experienced executive known to many in the industry and I am sure will be a significant asset to the Fund.”

Last year the charity supported over 1400 people from the confectionery industry and in September will unveil its new strategy with the intention of broadening the beneficiary base.

Patrick said, “I am honoured to take on this role and to build on the great work and success that Malcolm has achieved.”
