Grocery industry charity continues to grow in northern England

The regional committee branches of Caravan play a hugely significant role in the life of the charity, enabling fundraising events to take place nationwide.

This summer, the North West and Yorkshire committee branches have merged into one Northern committee.

The merger is a positive step taken to ensure these regions have the opportunity to make the most out of Northern fundraising activities and by combining these two branches a new committee has been formed with a wider experience base and even greater fundraising potential.

Caravan has nine branches all over the country and between them they contribute significantly towards the charity’s overall fundraising effort.

The new Northern Committee chaired by David Messom, Director of Food Retail Trading at The Co-operative Group, will be based in Manchester and will continue to hold regular events throughout the year including the Chairman’s Race Day in July, the Gala Ball in October, the Christmas Ball in December and the Greyhound night in February.

Details of all the events to be hosted by the new Northern branch can be found on the Caravan web site www.caravan-charity.org.uk.
