The agreement does not affect Morrisons relationship with Music Box Leisure (MBL), which will continue to supply non-chart music and DVD products to the chain.
E.UK has been working with Morrisons since June 2005. Since then, Morrisons’ turnover in the chart sector of the home entertainment market has increased by more than 150%.
John Vinuesa, Home and Leisure Director at Morrisons comments: “We continue to be excited by the entertainment and book markets and the increasingly significant role that we play within them.
“Extending our relationship with E.UK in this way enables us to continue to maximise value for our customers whilst working with our supply partners to drive further efficiencies. Key to our focus will be a greater level of interaction with labels, studios and publishers to ensure that Morrisons’ potential is fully recognised, and to harness their support in developing our home entertainment offering further.”
Steve Lewis, Managing Director of E.UK comments: “In the past twelve months E.UK has enjoyed a number of excellent contract wins, but it’s also key that we maintain our existing customer portfolio.
“We are therefore delighted with the confidence that Morrisons has demonstrated in E.UK in reaching this extended agreement following a very successful three years together.
“Morrisons continues to push forward as a progressive and proactive national retailer with extremely impressive growth in home entertainment, and we are thrilled to be an integral part of its future development.”
