Leading spirits company Diageo GB today announced the appointment of Philip Gladman as marketing director, reporting to managing director Simon Litherland.
Gladman will be responsible for the brand, category and responsible drinking marketing agenda for Diageo GB, and will commence his role in June.
He has been with Diageo for more than nine years and is currently global senior vice-president for Smirnoff, based in the US. Prior to this, he led the European ‘innovation agenda’ introducing brands such as Baileys Flavours and Guinness Surger.
Matt Barwell, European marketing and innovation director, who has also been acting GB marketing director, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Philip back to GB – he is a great marketer with a fantastic track record of developing and executing fantastic marketing programmes.
“He also has a great understanding of our market, due to his previous role as brand director for Smirnoff. The work that he has been leading globally for us on Smirnoff is also brilliant.”
Gladman joined Diageo in 2001, from P&G where he was global brand manager of Max Factor Cosmetics, having held a number of other positions at that company.
He replaces Philip Almond, who is now global marketing director for Baileys.
