Skillsmart Retail in final call for £1,500 scholarships

Skillsmart Retail and Retail Trust have made a final call for applications for ten management training scholarships.

They are offering the £1,500 awards to the Oxford Summer School, a residential retail training course run by the British Shops and Stores Association at Keble College, Oxford from 16-22 August 2008.

The scholarships are aimed at managers from small- and medium-sized retailers to allow them to develop their expertise.

Anne Seaman, CEO of Skillsmart Retail, said: “The Oxford Summer School is the perfect opportunity to network with other retail managers and industry leaders.”

The Summer School programme focuses on four key areas of management expertise: people, money, merchandise and retail space.

There are 10 bursaries available, which are open to all retail managers. Companies with fewer than 250 employees, and owner managers are especially encouraged to apply.

Application forms can be downlaoded from the events section of www.skillsmartretail.com

The closing date for applications is 25 April 2008.
