For the second period of Landmark’s Wholesale’s financial year, sales of own-brand goods have risen; this is the 27th month of continued growth for the group.
Highlights of June trading include increases of 31% for licensed and 99% for Lifestyle Value. Overall sales for the month rose by 9.9% compared with June 2011.
United Wholesale Grocers Springburn depot, second placed in May, changed places with BA Cash & Carry Cardiff to take over as the best-performing depot. AG Parfett & Sons was the best performing member overall and the fastest-growing members were Camelot Chilled Foods +80%, United Wholesale Grocers +52% and Battricks Foodservice +46%.
Landmark Wholesale business development director, Chris Doyle, said: “It’s still very tough out there so it is very pleasing to report such promising figures for our own-brands and that the majority of our members are in growth. We’re working hard to promote our own-brands and value own-brands and helping Independent Retailers to compete effectively so, with the Olympics about to begin and predictions for a slight recovery in the economy in the second half of the year, the signs are very encouraging.”
