Premier Mega Deals drive £1m extra sales for retailers


Premier has announced that their new ‘Mega Deals’ have proved to be a “huge success” with an average of £1m of additional sales for its retailers each promotion.

The Mega Deal, along with the three ‘hot spot’ promotions, that all feature in The Sun, have increased both footfall and sales for Premier symbol group retailers.

The Mega Deals have included better than half price Bold 2in1 25 wash for £3.59, better than half price Surf Small & Mighty 630ml at £1.29 and Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero and Diet Coke 6x330ml cans buy-one-get-one-free at £3.65. Also featured have been Walkers 16 pack at better than half price at £2 and Heinz Tomato Ketchup (570g) at just 99p, saving £1.

Many Premier retailers have seen significant increases in sales such as Radhakrishnan Kumar, of Premier Fairways Supermarket, in Port Talbot, said: “My customers are now looking for the Mega Deal at the start of each new promotion. I make sure that they get prominent display in each of my stores and make sure all POS is used. They have proved to be very successful in my stores as they are market leaders in the convenience sector.”

Also pleased with the deals is Thiagalingam Rageevan, of Premier Kestrel Convenience Store, in Chatham, said:  “The Mega deals from the start have been fantastic and this is helping my business grow.  The advert in The Sun on has certainly made my shoppers aware of the deals.  They are coming into my store, looking for the Mega Deal and also buying across the range of promotions.  In addition to this, the Mega Deals have really helped my business compete with the new Tesco Express that has recently opened 150 metres away.”
