NI convenience retailers get new logo

National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) members in Northern Ireland will soon be able to display a new logo in their windows should they pass store testing criteria.

If retailers are successful in the initiative then they will also be able to take part in promotions offered by the NFRN.

District president Raymond Farrell said: “Consumers will soon become familiar with the sign and know when they see it they can be sure of excellent value and service.”

Wholesaler Palmer and Harvey is providing product promotion support for the scheme, with 60% of products included drawn from categories such as crisps, snacks and confectionery.

Head of marketing and business development Graeme Collins added: “With publishers and suppliers being equally enthusiastic, we believe that this new accreditation scheme has all the ingredients to become a really powerful new marketing tool for our members.”

The NFRN recently gave extra support to retailers and gave them tips should sub post offices be closed down.
