Musgrave announces plans for Budgens retailers at London conference


Musgrave Retail Partners GB has outlined its plans for Budgens retailers at a conference in London.


The company is launching a new recruitment training guide in mid-May, following trials with three retailers. A new training and development guide for retailers is also being launched.

New products and services on the way include value lines to be launched In august, the implementation of a Known Value Items (KVI) range and new sandwich and meat offers.

It is to trial a core ranging and merchandising (CRAM) programme across a number of categories and is introducing a new Budgens bakery range.

The company is also investing in an environmental programme to reduce carbon emissions while also reducing packaging.

The Budgens store of the year and best store under 3,000 sq ft is Alec and Lyn Gardner, Budgens, East Bergholt. The best store over 3,000 sq ft is operated by Jamie and Colette O’Flynn, Budgens, Acle.

Investment in the UK includes £10.5m investment to simplify the Wellingborough retailer service centre, doublin its capacity and £7.5m investment in supply chain IT systems.
