Musgrave announces new measures for Londis retailers


Musgrave had unveiled a raft of measures to help Londis retailers build business and deal with a tough trading environment in 2008


Speaking at the Londis retailer conference in Harrogate, Phil Smith, managing director of Musgrave Retail Partners GB, acknowledged that 2007 has been a “challenging year”.

Announced measures included improved wholesale pricing across key lines and:

* £1 million investment in promotional programme
* Introduction of a £4,000 base level EPoS system
* Roll out of chilled vehicles
* Launch of afternoon deliveries
* New roll cages
* Enhanced training programme
* Londis store of the year announced

Smith said key focus areas for 2008 would be alcohol, bakery and food to go with a focus on offering customers competitive prices and value.
