Landmark Wholesale has launched a guide to help independent retailers make the most of any business opportunities during the credit crunch.
The first issue, which is currently being sent out to thousands of retailers, looks at the importance of having a core range, recommended selling prices, added-value services, staff training, planning for events and responsible retailing.
The April edition will cover Easter, while the June issue will preview summer opportunities and the back-to-school period.
In September Retail Matters will look at Halloween and the run-up to Christmas. Raj Krishan, retail controller at Landmark Wholesale, said: “Retail Matters is designed to offer independent retailers bite-size chunks of key information that will make them better retailers.
“With the credit crunch and the economy in a recession it has never been a better time for independent retailers to look at their offering and see where they can improve.
They are ideally placed to help their local community cope in these difficult times and, through Retail Matters, independents can get impartial advice across a series of topics that are relevant to them,” he said.
Retail Matters is also available on the www.landmarkwholesale.co.uk website.
