The Community Alcohol Partnership has been launched in Kent as an effort to try and reduce underage alcohol sales.
Backing for the partnership has been given by the Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (Rasg) and Kent Council Council.
A number of retailers along with local authorities are to be involved in the Kent Community Alcohol Partnership (KCAP).
Rasg chairman Nick Grant said: “Experience shows that collaboration can help tackle underage drinking and KCAP takes it to the next level, involving local health authorities for the first time to address the health impact of alcohol consumption by young people.”
Today, as part of an exclusive piece of research carried out by Empathy Research for TalkingRetail.com, consumers said it is not down to supermarkets to control how people drink.
Earlier this month, the Association of Convenience Stores said that a report by a committee of MPs into cut-price drinks is welcome but a total ban on promotions is not the answer.
