Costcutter Supermarkets Group has appointment Louise Wylie as its new communications manager.
Wylie joins the company with 10 years of industry experience gathered from six years in-house at Yorkshire Water and four years at the Leeds-based public relations agency Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger.
Commenting on her appointment, Wylie said: “Costcutter takes a thoroughly proactive and modern approach in its communications with retailers and consumers. The group’s latest attention grabbing ‘Love/Hate Football’ campaign really sparked my interest in the brand – particularly for its reliance on social media channels to engage with shoppers and retailers alike.
“The challenge of driving footfall into retailer stores, combined with increasing retailers affiliated to the group is something which will allow me to exercise my experience of working on both trade and consumer PR.”
Costcutter recently revealed that sales figures for the financial year 2009/2010, which closed at the end of April, were in excess of £600m for the first time in the company’s history and is about to return to TV with Darren Gough taking the leading role in the company’s latest commercial.
