Costcutter’s new ad campaign to introduce new Local Pride family

Costcutter’s new television advertising campaign hits the screens this month and introduces the new Local Pride family for the first time.

Shot on location at the Costcutter store in Guiseley, West Yorkshire – the first new store showcasing the future of convenience retailing – the adverts remain focused on promoting the fantastic range of offers available in store with a mix of ‘live’ and animated sequences and a little help from the charming Local Pride characters who interact with the products.

Reinforcing Costcutter’s focus on value, the adverts will again be aired in 30-second and 10-second formats creating significant awareness of the amazing offers and the Costcutter brand.

Jennifer Holmes, retail marketing manager for Costcutter Supermarkets Group, said: “The mix of live footage and animation is a first for Costcutter but they combine extremely effectively to create a value message, with added personality. Costcutter is proud to be local and our Local Pride initiative is extremely important to us and our retailers. The interaction with the products brings extra warmth to the adverts, whilst not distracting from the key value message.

“We committed ourselves to increasing our TV exposure year-on-year and 2012 sees Costcutter on TV more frequently than ever before.”

Local Pride is a campaign dedicated to raising funds for good causes and charities across the UK by raising funds for Making A Difference Locally, a registered charity which in turn ensures that the money raised is spent on good causes in the local area in which they were raised.

Sounds interesting, I think the co-operative have obviously led the way in this area and it will be interesting to see how Costcutter spin this angle.
